WILLY CHIN
SELECTER/ REMIXER/ PRODUCER
Born in Florida to Jamaican parents, this 25 year-old musical dynamo has stayed
true to his strong Jamaican roots, Chinese heritage and his passion for reggae
music. Willy Chin Remix or simply ‘Willy Chin’, launched his solo DJ career 6 years before joining infamous sound ‘Black Chiney’. Debuting at the early age of 13, he played alongside his uncle and cousin at various events including weddings, anniversaries, office and house parties to highlight a few.
Throughout his career ‘Willy Chin’ has been blessed with consistent support from his family, particularly from his relatives in the music industry who recognized his talent and encouraged him in all his musical endeavors. This positive motivation from his mentors such as his uncle Paul Chin who started ‘Cosmic Force’; cousin ‘Supa Dups’ who started ‘Black Chiney’; guitarist Mitchum ‘Khan’ Chin who has played for artistes including Beres Hammond, Chakka Demus & Pliers, Buju Banton and Sizzla; and computer genius Nick Vyrux, propelled ‘Willy Chin’ to new musical heights.
As a child during his idyllic years growing up he listened to ‘Supa Dups’ playing on a popular radio station in Miami. At his cousin's request he would record the shows at home on a cassette player. Willy credits this exercise for subconsciously teaching him about mixing music and song selection and by age 10 he had made a conscious decision to become a DJ.
His love and zeal for music continued to grow while working at a local music store, Light and Sound Equipment (LASE) during the day and as DJ at night. LASE, a family owned business, helped ‘Willy Chin’ to develop a keen knowledge of the equipment he would soon treasure and find himself inseparable.‘Willy Chin’ was introduced to the technological aspect of digital manipulation of music by another influential person in his career, his cousin, Nicholas Lyon. By 2000, this exposure soon fueled Willy’s obsession with remixing and he became later known as the ‘Remix King’. In 2003 he released his first mix tape, Willy Chin Volume One, which lead to a critical turning point in his musical career as a DJ. Not long after, he was recognized internationally for his mix tapes that landed in countries such as Bahamas, Jamaica and St. Lucia.

WALSHY FIRE
SELECTOR/ MC
Whether hyping up a crowd of discerning reggae enthusiasts with expert selections or introducing European festival crowds to the meaning of “Pon De Floor,” Walshy Fire has truly earned the title of Global Ambassador of Music & Culture. Highly renowned and respected throughout the Caribbean music universe as a double-threat MC and selector for Miami’s Grammy winning Black Chiney Sound System, Walshy can now also be found on the world’s biggest stages as the master of ceremonies for Diplo’s genre-bending dancehall carnival, Major Lazer.
Obtaining his Master’s Degree in Journalism, Walshy then took a job working at IBM. Unfulfilled by the corporate grind, he moved to New York City, working at legendary Brooklyn record shop Beat Street while resolving to perfect his craft as a DJ. “For a DJ, Beat Street was like being thrown into the Harvard Law program if you wanted to be a lawyer,” Walshy says of the now-closed institution, then frequented by NY’s biggest hip-hop DJs and producers. “Every record you could ever think of was there, every DJ that mattered was coming through there.”
A brief spell back in Jamaica, where he was the touring dj for Sean Paul, Walshy then returned to Miami and joined up with rising “remix kings,” Black Chiney. With Walshy in the mix, Black Chiney became a touring machine, travelling around the world and scoring a profile in The Fader magazine. Thanks to a rare combination of music and public relations skills, Walshy has found himself dubbed “Miami’s Prime Minister.” When media outlets like the Miami Herald need someone to break down the 305’s annual Caribbean Carnival, it’s Walshy who they call. Frequently tapped to DJ at prestigious venues like the Miami Art Museum and Adrienne Arsht Center, the Miami New World Symphony has made him its official DJ. In the midst of all this, Walshy still has an award-winning radio program on Miami’s MIXX 96.1, two TV shows (The Mix in Miami and
Guinness Sounds of Greatness Jamaica). Walshy officially went global in 2011 as hypeman for Major Lazer, one of the most over-the-top live acts on the music festival circuit. With his Masters Degree-level experience in music and an eye towards music’s bigger picture, it’s a given that even greater opportunities will continue to come Walshy Fire’s way.

BRANDON LEE
SELECTOR/ MC
Since Brandon Lee joined forces with Black Chiney in 2009, he has successfully merged his style of juggling with the dub-plate trend setting style of Black Chiney. He has represented Black Chiney to fullest in cities across the USA, spanning from New York to California. His high energy performance when selecting is widely enjoyed throughout Caribbean, including islands like Jamaica, Antigua, Bahamas and the US & British Virgin Islands.
When you look at Brandon Lee you can tell he's all about music. Born in Fort Lauderdale, FL to Chinese-Jamaican parents, he was exposed to the Sound System world of music from an early age. His father played an integral part in the establishment of the "ElectroForce Sound" of Montego Bay, Jamaica. Needless to say his early desire to the listening of Sound Clash cassettes was easily satisfied from clashes involving Stone Love, Killamanjaro, Metro Media, Jammy's, Black Kat, and many more.
He recalls his first actual sound clash at the age of 8 years old, an experience on one of his many trips to Jamaica during his earlier years. He was terrified the first time he "talked the mic" at a dance. It was on Electro Force Sound, while playing with Stone Love, Metro Media, and Pieces.
Brandon Lee is a multi-talented Selector, MC, Sound System Engineer and event Promoter. His electrifying personality brings any party to life. Look out for Brandon Lee coming to a city near you!

ENGLISH
SELECTOR/ MC
I began my career as English, being born in London, England. Music has always been an influence in my life from as far back as I can remember. My first record was given to me by my uncle (Double G formerly from Stylee Media) when I was about 4 years old the record was "The Muppets Song" and I would play that song every day. I joined my first reggae sound in Miami, Florida called "Genesis" and played at house parties and a few local venues around the area. Several years later, after some persuasion from the former owner of Delta Force, I joined his sound "City Star" and lived in California for 2 years. During this experience including trips to Jamaica and taking lessons from Ricky Trooper and my mentor "Tony Matterhorn" I decided I wanted to follow in the steps of King Addies (My Favorite Sound) and make City Star a clash sound.
In late 1999, while back in Miami, I was offered to be a part of Prodigy Movements as their MC and I joined Dappa, Bigga Don & Killa Mike and stayed for 10 years and learned the business on a different level. I was fortunate enough to be on the same radio station as DJ Khaled Mix 96.1 fm and Riddims 95.3 fm. Being on Prodigy Movements truly enhanced my love for being a DJ and being an entertainer. I have been fortunate enough to have played alongside every great reggae sound in the industry from Stone Love, Afrique, King Addies, Renaissance, Tony Matterhorn, King Waggy T, just to name a few.
After long deliberation, I decided take my career to its next level. This was a big decision after being a member of a sound that I loved for 10 years. I accepted an opportunity and joined “Black Chiney Sound” as a full member in March of 2009. I've been fortunate enough to have played in Jamaica, Belize, England, Germany, Italy, and half of the United States, and have
played for crowds exceeding 3000 people.
In 2012 I expanded my talents and signed as an official DJ and A&R on an independent label in UK called "iLL Flava Records" and became the project manager for Mr. Midas a UK artist. After many years in being a DJ and in the music industry, I'm proud to say I'm still growing and have yet to reach my peak. In 2014, I look forward to taking my skills and experience to a new
level, so look out for a new DJ ENGLISH FIRE in a venue near you!!
